Depression – An Endless Darkness – in the Livewire, The Wire

Your Name
Every night I call your name many times
Into the silent darkness
And every time I feel that if I call you one more time
You will return and I will be able to see you and hold you before I shut my eyes,
But you never come and never will, I know,
and neither will sleep.
But I am sure wherever you are
You hear me call your name.
For surely so much pain, so much love
So much hope, so much prayer
Cannot go unheard, even if unanswered.
I can only hope that on the day
I shut my eyes for ever
Your body will be in my arms
The scent of your being in my breath
Your face will be the last I see
And your name the last I call.
